The Bear Outdoor > Himalaya > Baruntse Expedition

The Baruntse Expedition will take us to some of the most beautiful peaks in Nepal, a splendid symmetrical snowy peak, similar to Pumori. Baruntse is cloistered between Everest and Makalu. Its limits are marked by the Barun glacier, the Imja Tse glacier, where we can climb Island Peak, and the Hunku glacier.

The Baruntse was first promoted in te 50´s and many of the expeditionaries have attempted to ascend this summit. The normal route to Baruntse takes us along the southeast ridge with difficulty, where we find ice slopes of up to 50 degrees. From the base camp located in lakes more than 5,500 meters below Amphu Lapcha La, it is usually to set up 2 or 3 high camps. The facilities in ur base camp are complete so mountaineers don’t have to worry about anything while attempting the climb to Baruntse.

The trekking to face the Expedition to Baruntse, will take us to Mera La, a trail that we will also going to hike if we want to climb Mera Peak of 6,476 meters. The Hinku Valley will give us a true expeditionary atmosphere.
